Location

Nearby towns include Manassas, Bristow, and Gainesville, and cities like Fairfax, Sterling, and Chantilly are all less than 30 miles away. 

Residents of Warrenton rely heavily on their personal vehicles for transportation. Brookside is about an hour’s drive of Quantico and Ft. Belvoir, and traffic around these bases can be very heavy at times. The commute to Fredericksburg can also take about an hour, but the drive down Interstate 17 is quite simple and pleasant. For those that need to commute into Washington D.C, the drive can take well over an hour, depending on the time of day. 

There is a VRE rail station in nearby Bristow approximately 20 minutes away that can possibly cut some of the headache and time off of your commute. From the Broad Run Station, the Manassas Line makes stops in Springfield, Crystal City, Alexandria, and D.C, to name a few. With a little coordination, rideshare can be a great option if you have a considerable commute. VDOT completed a large expansion of the Fauquier County/ Warrenton Park and Ride lot in 2019, and it happens to be just three miles from the entrance to Brookside.

Brookside has a homeowner’s association and a local pool and community center at the entrance to the neighborhood. The pool is a perfect place for the entire family to relax on a hot summer day. The community center is open year-round and residents can rent it out for social events. 

Brookside directly borders Vint Hill Farms, which has a cafe, brewery, winery, and a community theater. Additionally, there are many other rural wineries in the greater Warrenton area to explore. For golf lovers, there are multiple golf courses within a 30-minute drive. Additionally, Brookside is located just a 10-minute drive northeast of the downtown Warrenton area, so residents can easily enjoy all of the dining, shopping, and events Old Town has to offer. Shenandoah National Park is also less than one hour away by car. 

For families with children, Warrenton has a good public school system, and there are several private schools to choose from. For higher education, Laurel Ridge Community College is a great choice and is located in Warrenton. George Mason University has a Science and Technology campus in nearby Manassas, and there is also a DeVry University campus in the area.
