Fawn Lake is a private residential community, but there are plenty of local businesses in the surrounding area. Grocery stores and farmer’s markets are within a 15-minute drive, and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from in nearby towns like Fredericksburg.

For families with children, the public elementary school is just outside of the Fawn Lake development. The nearest public middle and high schools are a 20-minute drive away, and there are also many private schools in the area. The nearest university is the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg. Fawn Lake is also within a two-hour drive of many other notable universities, including the University of Virginia, George Mason University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and many more. Large healthcare facilities are located in Fredericksburg as well.

Because of the number of outdoor activities to try in Spotsylvania, if you love spending time outside, you definitely won’t be bored here. Lake Anna State Park is located just south of Fawn Lake and is a great place to go boating, camping, or swimming. The Potomac River is also just a short drive east. Additionally, Crow’s Nest Natural Area and Caledon State Park both provide river access and have nature trails.
