Housing

Potomac Shores is popular due to the appealing neighborhood amenities. For one, it has its own golf course!

If you’re not a fan of new construction, there are plenty of other neighborhoods worth checking out. Montclair is a sought-after neighborhood of homes built in the 1980’s. These homes can be a little harder to come by than those in Potomac Shores, because there just simply aren’t as many of them. Montclair is unique, because some of the homes in the community are lakefront. Lake Montclair is very popular for fishing, boating, and swimming. Brittany is yet another great neighborhood in Dumfries. These are sizable homes with plenty of trees, and most were built in the late 90’s. The community is surrounded on all sides by Prince William Park, so it offers quite a tucked-away feeling. Overall, the homes in both Brittany and Montclair are lovely, and they can be a bit more affordable and offer more privacy than the new-construction options.

When you are looking at homes for sale, you’ll probably also come across a neighborhood known as Southbridge. It’s a master-planned community on 600 wooded acres. These home sites are on the small side, but the homes themselves are rather large. Southbridge contains a good mix of single-family homes and duplexes, as well as townhomes starting in the $300’s.
