Location
Fredericksburg is located midway between Richmond and Washington, D.C. Traffic can be heavy as you head north, so the drive into D.C. can take over an hour at times. If you’re stationed at Dahlgren or Quantico, the drive from Fredericksburg takes about 40 minutes, and the commute is fairly easy.
Depending on where you work outside of Fredericksburg, the VRE might be of great use to you and can help take the headache out of your commute. There are two stations in Fredericksburg - one is located downtown and the other is off of Hwy. 17 near Crossroads Pkwy. There are also several Park & Ride lots around town.
Housing

In neighborhoods like South Woods, homes come with several acres of land. If you have interest in a townhome, the communities of Spring Knoll, Village of Idlewild, Olde Towne Station, Heather Hills, Summerfield, and Highlander Park are some of the best. These homes are large, with between 1,800 and 3,500 square feet of living space and are also affordably priced. In Fredericksburg, you can find sizable three-story townhomes starting in the $300’s. If cost isn’t an issue, you need to take a look at townhomes for sale in Amelia Square.
