Homes for Sale in King George VA
If you’re looking for a quiet place to call home, stationed at Dahlgren and prefer a home of your own, or just something in between, there are always great homes for sale in King George County, VA. While there aren’t as many options as there are in some of the surrounding cities, we can point you in the right direction. Location
King George County is situated east of both Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County and is bordered on the east by Westmoreland County. It’s also midway between DC and Richmond, and NSF Dahlgren is located in the northeastern part of the region. King George is more sparsely populated compared to other parts of Northern Virginia, and there aren’t as many amenities, education centers, and retail options in the area. It all depends on what is most important to you - the region’s slower pace and natural beauty attracts more and more homeowners each year.
Housing
When you’re checking out the homes for sale in King George County, Va. you’ll notice that many of the available homes are spread out throughout the county and not part of any particular neighborhood. There is often a good variety of home types to choose from, and you can easily find a mid-sized home for around 400,000. You’ll also notice that most of these homes have more acreage and privacy than you will find in nearby cities like Fredericksburg and Stafford.
If you aren’t interested in any of these more “rural” homes, there are several great neighborhoods worth checking out. If you favor established neighborhoods, we recommend checking out the homes for sale in Presidential Lakes, located just off of King’s Highway. The first homes were built in the 1970’s, and the community has continued to grow over the years. Because of this, you’ll find a wide variety of home types and sizes to choose from. You can find homes with between two to five bedrooms and between 1,200 to over 4,000 square feet of living space. You might even come across a new-construction home for sale in Presidential Lakes.
Another popular neighborhood is Eden Estates. Like Presidential Lakes, there are a variety of home sizes and styles. Most of these homes sit on an acre of land and are priced between $400,000 to $600,000. One of the perks of buying a home in Eden Estates is that there is no homeowner’s association, and so you are free from added monthly fees.
Oakland Park is another community on our list. These mid-sized homes were built between 1998 and 2006, and have between three to five bedrooms and up to 4,000 sq. ft. of living space. It’s a great choice if you work at Dahlgren, as it is a 30-minute commute - yet you’ll be just 15 minutes away from all of the entertainment and retail options that Fredericksburg has to offer.
You might be surprised to learn that you can also find new-construction homes in King George County. Hopyard Farm has started a new phase of development, but you’ll often come across homes for sale from the original phase, which can help you if you need to get into a home as soon as possible. Hopyard Farm also offers resort-style amenities such as a Golf Course and a Marina.
