Presidential Lakes is only 13 miles from Dahlgren, located midway between Fredericksburg and the base itself. The community is located just off Kings Highway, and is set in a beautifully wooded and quiet area that contains Lake Madison and Lake Monroe.
Housing
Presidential Lakes consists mostly of mid-sized single-family homes. The first homes were built in the 1970’s, and the community has continued to grow over the years. Because of this, you’ll find a wide variety of home types and sizes to choose from. Homes are two to five bedrooms with 1,200 to over 4,000 sq. feet, and the average price in Presidential Lakes is $358,000. New-construction homes can also be found, and lots are still available ranging in size from half an acre to over six acres.
The Presidential Lakes Property Owners’ Association hosts several events throughout the year and offers a number of amenities to homeowners. While creeks and ponds are located throughout, access is provided at the various lakes in the community, where you’ll also find covered pavilions. There is also a large pool, several parks, a basketball court, and an HOA community center. Yearly dues are $878.00, so this is just something to consider when purchasing a home in Presidential Lakes. Apart from the amenities, dues are generally allocated for road maintenance and snow removal.
Area Information
The public schools in King George County are above average, and King George High School and Middle School are just across the street from the entrance to Presidential Lakes. While King George County is rural and sparsely populated, Presidential Lakes residents are less than a mile from the necessities.
