Location

Southbridge is an unincorporated master-planned community on the northern border of Dumfries in Prince William County. The neighborhood is situated on 600 wooded acres near the Potomac River.

Southbridge is just a few minutes from I-95 and Route 234, which makes for an easier commute. The drive into D.C. takes about 45 minutes, and the neighborhood is just about ten minutes from Quantico. There’s a plan in the works for a new VRE station at nearby Potomac Shores, which will greatly benefit those who work outside of Dumfries.

Homes

The community of Southbridge consists of more than 1,500 homes. What makes it unique is that options include not only single-family homes but also townhomes and very large duplexes that share a common wall just at the garage. Overall, the homes are competitively priced compared to other areas of Northern Virginia, especially when considering their size.

When it comes to the single-family homes, most have between four to six bedrooms, four or more bathrooms, and 2,500 to 4,500 square feet of living space. The largest homes are situated off of Kirby Drive. Some homes even include features like hardwood flooring and finished basements. The only downside is that some of the lots are on the small side.

There is an even larger selection of townhomes in Southbridge. One of the most distinct features in the townhomes is that most actually have four bathrooms. Some also include garages. In terms of pricing, you can find a three-story townhome with three bedrooms, four bathrooms and between 1400 and 2,000 square feet of living space for around $350,000. The duplexes in Southbridge are also spacious and offer up to five bedrooms. They are also quite impressive in that the only shared wall is that of the garage.

There are extensive amenities to enjoy in the neighborhood. From a pool with a private swim club, to tennis courts, nature trails, and tot lots, residents won’t be bored. What’s more, Southbridge is a sister community of Potomac Shores’, so residents receive special privileges and discounts at the Potomac Shores Golf Club, just a few minutes away.
